Cindy Sherman Self Portraits

Philadelphia Mural Arts Program

Inspired by the work of the prolific photographer, Cindy Sherman, students participating in Mural Arts free after-school classes explored the idea of identity. Through class discussions and journaling activities, they imagined alternate identities for themselves. The class painted backdrops, designed costumes, used facepaint, and learned how to edit their original photos using Adobe Photoshop.
